Hoover UH30010COM Platinum Lightweight Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Canister

I put this vacuum in my cart at the $269 price and then decided to call my wife to be sure she didn’t already get the one at Target for $299. An hour later I went back to Amazon to check out and they noted that the price had changed to $299. Well no point in going through the risk of shipping and assorted problems if it needed to be returned. It’s off to Target after work. Sorry Amazon, I don’t play your games.

I purchased this for our office. It looked really sleek on the website. When it arrived I opened it up and was surprised that it looked a little on the cheap side. Meaning the base area and wheels look cheaply made. In addition I fired it up and was surprised by how loud it was. I literally have to wear earplugs, not to mention it’s for our office so now I can’t use it while people are working. I also got the canister that came with this. It has nice attachments and is easy to set up. The only downfall I’ve seen with this so far is the hose tends to come out as well as the strap. It’s not like it comes off during use but as I’m moving around it pops off easily and the strap metal clasp is loose. We’ve had this for a little over 2 weeks. For the price I was a little dissappointed. I know it’s not super expensive but anytime I spend $300 I expect it to work and not to blow out my ear drums.

I just bought this vaccum after reading the excellent reviews which failed to tell me that the actual unit does not have any attachments …. attachments only come with the canister. So if I am vaccuming the floor and the dirt cannot be picked up from the edges I would have to stop the vaccum and go find the canister and parts and plug it in and use it just to finish the edges on the floor. EPIC FAIL!!!!
Also the height automatic self-adjusting feature did not work on shaggy carpet. FAIL.

i started buy first using my bag less upright to vacuum the floor i did this after i changed all of the filters and that cost me 40 bucks. i decided i was tired of that and it takes 2min to get it out of the box install one screw plug in a go. after i was done i opened the bag to find dirt like i have never vacuumed at my home. i have yet to try it on the tile floor but it seems like the truth. (for those who do not know this is good)

I just got this vacuum today as a b-day gift..I’ve been talking about it for months.
My initial reaction is, loving it! The engineering is top notch! And the quality is impressive! The canister’s hose and telescoping wand are highly durable and resilient. The upright’s cord comes out at the top in back of the handle instead of at the back of the motor head near the floor, where you would have to just clip it up at the handle anyway to keep it out of the way. I also love that the upright will lay down horizontally to get under furniture and be easily held for stairs.
The only thing I would suggest to improve it is this..since the bristles on the hand brush attachment are removable, it would be nice to have a second option (ie. have the standard bristles and provide another set of soft bristles as well).
All in all, this seems to be the best vacuum I have ever owned (and my vacuum is always very near and dear to me..friends have been known to refer to me as “Mister Munk”).
